After many years of kind folks telling me that "Benita" means "pretty" and "fish," I was inspired to embrace that sentiment and create PrettyFish Studio—a joyful reflection of their encouragement and my love for creativity.

About Me

After a career filled with vibrant experiences in the hospitality industry, I’ve found my next adventure in creativity. PrettyFish Studio is my little corner of the world where history, artistry, and purpose collide. Creating has always been the spark that lit up my workdays, and now it’s the heartbeat of everything I do.

For over 30 years, I thrived in the fast-paced world of hospitality. From guiding sales and marketing teams to dreaming up strategies that brought life to some of the most beautiful hotel properties, my work revolved around connecting people, telling stories, and making big ideas happen. I had the joy of working with iconic brands, leading transitions, crafting marketing campaigns, and even training others to thrive in their roles. It was a whirlwind of numbers, creativity, and people, and I loved every minute.

Now, in this new chapter, I’m back to what I love most—creating. PrettyFish Studio celebrates the charming history of Milwaukie with its “Bing, The Cherry That Made Milwaukie Famous” collection, while also championing themes of kindness and human dignity. Each design is a little piece of joy, a nod to the past, and a step toward a brighter future.

Retirement isn’t about slowing down; it’s about chasing the things that truly bring you happiness—and for me, that’s creating something meaningful, fun, and occasionally a bit cheeky.
